A tearful farewell for soldiers in Taunton

About 180 soldiers from the Massachusetts Army National Guard gathered today on the Taunton Green to say a tearful farewell to friends and relatives before they headed off on a one-year deployment in which they will be posted to Iraq.

The 772nd Military Police Company left by bus after the ceremony for Fort Dix, N.J., where they will receive training for a month to three months before they are sent to Iraq, said Master Sergeant Pallas Wahl, a Massachusetts National Guard spokeswoman.

The soldiers, who include some who work as police officers in their civilian life, will be responsible for training, mentoring, and coaching Iraqi police, Wahl said.

I’ve been slacking…

I’ve been a tad remiss lately — in everything! I think I have over-committed myself in just about every avenue possible. Work is, well work. Austin and I have started a new business – Photo Fun Box (www.photofunbox.com) and we are really trying to get our name out there – and you know how we always say we are procrastinators..well is apparent at this time as well! I’m just really exhausted! and I wish for once it was allowed and someone who just say to me– “Take a break, I’ll pay for you to go to Jamaica!”

One heel of a marketing tool!

So, I stopped a a gas station near work on my way home tonight and what do I run into?? A giant stiletto heel/motorcycle. Crazy? Of Course, I went running up asking if I could take a picture because it’s not everyday you see a big high heel on wheels — this could bring a whole new meaning to “A Bitch on Wheels!” Marshall’s has done a great job here of thinking outside the box! It is street legal and everything..I thought about asking if I could get in but then I remembered that I was in the parking lot of a gas station!

The amount of data I send….wow!

So last night, Austin and I pulled up our Sprint cell phone bill because we are contemplating switching plans. They have a new unlimited text/data/talk plan that really seems great. Currently, we pay for a 3500 minute plan plus $10, $10, $10 for all the unlimited shit. However, in looking over our usage it was determined that I sent GUESS how many text messages last month — 785!!! Holy Shit!! Austin sent like 200 — I had to laugh that is pretty funny.. but wow. Then we looked down a little further at the data transfer number and mine was like 33,000 kb of data. Austin only sent 50,000 using the air card (wireless internet for the pc). That is just sad. I think it is official now that I am in fact — addicted to the phone/email/text messaging.

Thank god I have unlimited everything!!
